CONDUCT CIVIL CONSTRUCTION EXCAVATOR OPERATIONS – RIIMPO320F
This course is typically conducted on-site at a Customer location, however MSTS can arrange for all aspects of training, including Equipment and a suitable location.
Course Topics
- Legislation, responsibility and maintenance
- Safe operating procedures including methods of trench construction, bucket geometry, use of rock-breaker and other attachments
- Machine inspection and pre start checks
- Work area assessment
- Digging techniques including set up on trench top, batter cutting, digging around services and to required levels
- Use of attachments etc. (where applicable)
- Refueling
- Loading onto/off trailer/truck safely
- Basic Machine Maintenance including refueling
- Safe parking and Shut down – including post operational machine checks, securing of machine and work area
All learners must be able to read and comprehend English to a level that will enable them to safely perform duties as specified in the competency standard. MSTS recognises that some learners may require more support to meet the requirements of the training course. We will endeavour to meet these needs with regards to; language, literacy and numeracy skills. Learners are encouraged, prior to commencing the course and where applicable, to complete an MSTS LLN analysis, which will assist the Trainer/Assessor to interpret individual skill level and manage this from the onset.
